Guelph Community Singers Weekly Warmup (082717)
Posted September 14, 2017Hello my singing friends!
I hope you’re enjoying a fabulous summer. I find the end of August to be bittersweet, but as was pointed out to me, it only makes the warmer days of early Fall so much sweeter.
We are 108 members strong!
As we have all pre-registered, we will simply line up to receive our binders on September 6. Please be at Trinity United for 7PM so you have time to socialize before we start our practice at 7:45. For new members: This schedule is for September 6 only. Normally we arrive at about 7:15 and start practice at 7:30. Please see below for the session dates.
Welcome Night September 6:
7:00-7:45PM – Mix and Mingle, pick up music
7:45-8:50PM – Practice
8:50-9:00PM – Announcements
Practice Tracks
If you’d like to get a head start learning our new pieces, get thee to the website! Many of the pieces are posted there as Youtube videos in the “For Members” tab under “Practice Tracks”. The password is ‘gcs’. Janna and Reg will be starting to record the practice tracks as soon as Reg gets back from vacation in September.
Canada 150 Concert
Some of the line up will be for our own concert this coming January, and some will be performed at the Canada 150 concert that we will be doing on November 4 at the River Run, with the Guelph Chamber Choir, James Gordon, Guelph Youth Singers, The Rainbow Chorus of Waterloo-Wellington and the University of Guelph Choirs. http://guelphchamberchoir.ca/home/concerts/celebration-150/
Join us after Choir!
You’re all welcome to join us after choir for a cuppa tea or your bevvie of choice at the Pennywhistle. We enjoy talking about what we’re singing, and of course it’s always fun to make new friends.
REMINDERS:
Please use the Balsam Street Entrance
Trinity United is trying to manage cleaning costs. If you feel you must use the parking lot entrance, please remove your shoes at the door.
No boots in the Sanctuary!
Don’t forget to bring slippers or shoes!
Be Scent Savvy:
Some of us are very sensitive to scents. This can include hair spray, body lotion, and other scented products. Because you wear it all the time, you may not even realize that your scent is affecting others. Please give a thought to the products you wear, and please don’t wear scents to our practices. Thank you!!
